Pochoir (1931) after the watercolour by Auguste Leroux as published for 'Mémoires de Casanova' (Memoirs of Casanova).
Auguste Leroux created 200 watercolours to illustrate the 10 volume edition of 'Mémoires de Casanova' (Memoirs of Casanova), published by Javal & Bourdeaux, Paris, 1931-32.
The hand coloured pochoirs, after the watercolours, illustrated this limited edition publication and were produced by the Ateliers Daniel Jacomet et Cie in Paris. The illustrations form a remarkable and celebrated body of work of which this is a fine exanple.
