Provenance – The drawing was purchased directly from Cecil Collins and comes from one of the principal collections of the artist’s work. Full details on application.




In conversation with the original purchaser of this drawing, the artist described it as somewhat “Rembrandtesque” and also said that “there is a fragrant perfume about it”. It remains an enigmatic figure, drawn in 1961.
