Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale, drawing for sale, Nocturnal Scene by a Fountain with Harlequin & Dancers

Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale (1871-1945), Initialled EFB.

This may be inspired by Paul Verlaine’s poem – ‘Clair de Lune’

Initialled E.F.B. bottom right hand corner

A freely treated work by Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale. It is therefore less like her more formal work, though the style and treatment is very much in keeping with another more sketched drawing, her ‘Theatre Audience’.
