The inscription is: ‘Souvenir de Barham Court, Kent, Felix Buhot, eau-forte from a sketch by Ms E.V.B.

The etching is inspired by the work of Eleanor Vere Boyle and her drawing ‘The Lady of the Swans’. We have an article about Eleanor Vere Boyle by the art historian Lynda Harris on this website (in the articles section). Buhot visited and worked in London and must have seen the Boyle drawing or a preliminary sketch on a visit to the UK.
